Play us a new beat Something catchy and fast Play something quick so we can meet girls and dance and this bar we can finally tip our hats to Farewell And sing here's to us and our loneliness It's a miracle we should meet because you feel like home and that's where I want to be Now you walk into a room filled with "I love you"s and "I love you too"s and the ground is covered with fake fog just like a prom from that old tv show the last scene's song is always slow and from the ceiling a thousand balloons will fall you make it happen when I thought no, no none of this could be real you make it happen when I thought no, no none of this could be real Because this is my life and I can't believe how seldom I feel like me but with you I'm home and thats's where I want to be I know love sometimes hurts but when I need you the most I know you will be there I'm safe and sound because baby I'm yours And when you lean on me I'll know just what to say everytime you feel hurt I swear I'll take all that hurtin away and sing here's to us and our loneliness it's a miracle we should meet because you feel like home and home is where I want to be yeah you feel like home so stay here with me won't you stay here with me so stay here with me

Play us a new beat something catchy and fast Play something quick so we can meet girls and dance and this club we can finally tip our hats to. Farewell and toast, "Here's to our new friendship An alliance I'll always cherish They're gonna love They're gonna hate But they're gonna know it" Now you walk into a room filled with "I love you"s and "I love you too"s and the ground is covered with fake fog Just like a prom from that old tv show when the last scene's song is always slow and from the ceiling a thousand balloons will fall You make it happen when I thought no, none of this could be real You make it happen when I thought no, none of this could be real and sang, "Here's to our new friendship An alliance I'll always cherish They're gonna love They're gonna hate But they're gonna know it" She loves me and she loves me not She loves me and she loves me not try again when you're in a better mood The 8-balls - they've all turned their backs look away, pretend there is no attack but at least I can always rely on you and sang, "Here's to our new friendship An alliance I'll always cherish They're gonna love They're gonna hate But they're gonna know it" If Richmond is calling I'm staying by the phone to be delivered a new message I can't wait to learn but who would I be if you were here right now? what can I do to make you see what you mean to me It's all been done before

about

Bringing in the new year with something old!

Hello again! thanks for coming back!
This month's song is one of the first songs I ever wrote when I was playing under the name, "The Good Robot Usses" (Bill & Ted reference). For some reason, I could never let go of these old songs and just leave them in the past. Other examples of this would be Chronic Town which was recorded and released by This Good Robot 10 years later and even The Human I Am which was originally the worst song I ever wrote. Back then we called it Sexy Party... it was terrible.

So anyway, I rewrote this one about a year ago with a little help from Joe Ragosta (of Patent Pending... and my family) and recorded it with producer Nick Zinnanti @ Zin Records NY.

Performing on the single:
Michael Ragosta
Andrew Sclafani
Robert Ragosta
Nick Zinnanti
Ryan Linzer

BONUS TRACKS:

The first time I demoed this song was in 2000.
I wrote the lyrics in Mr Murphy's US History class in 9th grade to avoid falling asleep. That winter I went down to Virginia with a few friends to record this demo with producer Mark Miley. There was a blizzard, Seal almost swung by for some reason, we had to stop recording several times due to sounds of sirens and gunshots outside... It was a bizarre weekend to say the least. it was also the weekend we decided to change the name to This Good Robot. Explaining "Usses" was a huge pain in the ass.

Performing on the demo:
Michael Ragosta
Jennalise Vescovo
Gabe Fox
Gina Ragosta
Derrick Upchurch
Mark Miley

Not sure if you can tell, but I was listening to a shit ton of Conor Oberst at the time.
lil pitchy, dawg.

Demo 8/8/09:
After leaving Patent Pending, I started working with Andrew Sclafani (False Appearance & Lakitu) and we dove into This Good Robot together. I kept bringing up a few old songs like "Chronic Town", which in a way kinda shaped what kind of band This Good Robot would end up becoming along with Andrew bringing his own likeminded songs like "Red" (both can be heard on This Good Robot releases). But then there was this one. We just could never quite put our finger on what this song actually wanted to be. We tried several times over the years because I just couldn't let it go. I thought this one was really interesting, especially when comparing it to the other iterations of the song. Andrew is an INSANELY talented musician and I am so damn lucky to have him in my life!

Performing on this demo:
Michael Ragosta
Andrew Sclafani
John Welsh
Lou Derose

I AM FINALLY OFFICIALLY FINISHED WITH THIS SONG!!
